We are a community of doers turning health and scientific knowledge into actionable impact. We believe that making a difference locally is our strongest contribution to the world. The One Health approach is our compass, linking people, ecosystems, and economies for healthier communities, regions, and ultimately the planet.

Health does not exist in isolation; it is bound to our environment. By advancing sustainability and the circular economy, we show that health research also means caring for the planet and its communities. This vision fuels bold, interdisciplinary work across our ten research groups, including AgriFood, Bioeconomy & Environment, Translational One Medicine, Environmental Health, Active Ageing, Digital Health & Education, and Microbiology & Infectious Diseases.
There are no one-size-fits-all solutions. Science made here in our country and our region drives responses to global challenges. We translate discovery into solutions through partnerships, technology valorization, policy uptake, and real-world adoption.

We commit to excellence and impact: research integrity, open science, state-of-the-art information systems, and responsible, context-aware indicators, that ensure our work is citable, usable, and beneficial.

Health is a puzzle of economy, environment, governance, and education. Risk grows when these pieces fail to connect. Our One Health approach links human well-being with ecosystems and local economies, building resilience for a region in rapid transformation. To sustain that future, we educate leading minds, from undergraduate research experiences to doctoral and postdoctoral training. We invite stakeholders such as insurers, private hospitals, and health-tech companies to build the future with us.
