The Egas Moniz School of Health & Science has opened an offer position for 1 Research Fellowship, within the scope of the R&D project REFª 101095408 “BEST-COST | Burden of disease based methods for estimating the socio-economic cost of environmental stressors”, funded by Horizon Europe.

Admission Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Health Sciences, Statistics or Biostatistics; - Competences in quantitative data analysis; - Skills of communication and written and oral communication; - Excellent communication and written and oral expression in English; - Skills of organization and autonomy; - Enrollment in a course that confer or do not confer an academic degree. Preferential factors (optional): - Previous experience in the context of research projects, especially in the area of Public Health; - Previous experience in gathering and anaylsis of quantitative data; - Previous experience in burden of disease studies.

Work plan

- Literature review; - Data collection, design and update of databases; - Planning and implementation of burden of disease studies; - Writing reports, scientific articles and other necessary documents; - Support project management and collaboration with team members.

Duration of the fellowship

The duration of the research fellowship will be 4 months, starting in August 2023.

Workplace

The work will be carried out at Egas Moniz School of Health & Science (Campus Universitário, Quinta da Granja, Monte de Caparica, 2829 - 511 Caparica) and NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon (Avenida Padre Cruz, 1600-560 Lisboa).

Selection methods

The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (100%) in case there is no need for an interview. If an interview is considered necessary, both components will be weighted: Curriculum evaluation (70%) and interview (30%).

Form of publicity / notification of results

The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by e-mail, until 90 days after the final date for submission of applications. Candidates will be notified by e-mail within 10 working days, and if no reply is received, the list of candidates will become final. Applicants may develop a complaint against the final decision within 15 working days or appeal to the highest executive body of the funding body within 30 working days of the notification of the final decision, in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of the Regulations for Research Grants of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P.
